Studio 11
The centerpiece of Tree Sound's Studio 11 is an SSL 4000 E/G console, serial #11 - the eleventh SSL ever made! This console has some of the coolest vibes, having been Le Studio's A room console, installed in 1980. One of the first bands to use it was Rush for the recording of "Moving Pictures". They also worked on it for some of "Exit...Stage Left" and "Signals". The Police also utilized old #11 for some of the recording of "Synchronicity" and "Ghost in the Machine". The console lived at Le Studio until it was sold in 1985 and changed hands several times until 1991 when it ended up at Cheshire Sound in Atlanta. Tree Sound acquired the console in 1993, where it continues to yield great sounding records, and will cruise on into the next century.
Studio M
Some rooms just have magic and Studio M at Tree is one of them. Its vocal booth is a favorite with major and local artists. Studio M is ideal for overdubbing, pre and post-production, as well mastering. With tie lines to the Rasta Room and The Cave, this room's capabilities are much greater than its size. Acoustically tailored, this studio features a Dangerous Monitor ST, ProTools HD2, Augspurger Mains, Yamaha NS-10 monitors and a compliment of Tree's outboard gear available to it.
The Cave
What can we say..... It looks like the inside of a cave! Tree Sound Studios’ live soundstage, The Cave, is rockin’ !!! . Complete with rock walls, stalactites, a large two level performance stage, outstanding PA set up, full stage lighting and enough audience room to accommodate a showcase or catered CD Release event. The Cave also has tie lines to Studio A, Studio #11, and Room 222 to track any live performance. It is a great tracking and pre-production space and has been used by many major artists such as Trapt, LIVE, Indigo Girls and Flaw ,as well as local bands. It is fast becoming known as the best drum room in the ATL.
The Cave is also outfitted for live broadcast feeds and has hosted events for artists such as Fuel, Dave Matthews, 3 Doors Down, The Strokes, Peter Frampton, LIVE, and Zwan for Atlanta's radio stations 96Rock and 99X. We also hosted a CD release party for Elton John's release "Song's From the West" for Universal Records.
